This sofa was acquired from the estate of one of Dallas’ most awarded architects. His entire collection was almost 100% period Knoll and Herman Miller pieces. I guess there is a chance the sofa could be an early experimental George Nelson or a Knoll and Drake piece but unfortunately it is unmarked. It has the sensibility of a George Kasparian design but is at the same time reminiscent of Vista of California and some early Paul McCobb. The frame is raw steel and the feet are lacquered wood. The fabric is original but has been removed and cleaned. The foam and webbing have been replaced. It is quite a unique and visually delicate modernist design. Seat height 17.5″, seat depth 21″.
