Description
This elegant lounge chair was designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar in the late 1960s and was only produced for a very short time. The frame is crafted from solid American claro walnut with sculpted armrests and tapering legs. The back and seat consist of two panels of natural rattan square cane webbing with solid walnut frames which gracefully support the linen cushions. The backrest can be tilted back into a secondary position with the adjustment of a solid brass rod which slides through the brackets imbedded into the frame. The foam is new and has been shaped as the designer originally intended. The textile is a new Perrenials high-performance linen in gray with a slight green undertone which complements the natural color of the wood. This a very rare example of Edward Wormley’s more formal brand of Modernism.
