Monumental one of a kind mid-century modern Brutalist wall sculpture in steel and red slag glass designed by Jules De Waele for Pia Manu Studio.
Belgian sculptor and designer, Pia Manu Is related to Flemish brutalists. The pieces he created show primitive shapes, enhanced be the use of rough materials such as bronze, copper or slate. Each piece he produced is unique either tables, low tables, low reliefs, fireplaces or sculptures. He conceived marquetry composed of half-precious stones and others elements, giving the ensemble an esoteric and natural feature, patinated by time. The minimalist approach makes its creations timeless.
Executed in the 1970s for a private commission in Belgium.
